Privacy Policy

Last updated:

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data FilmSeries processes when you visit the website or contact us, why, and what rights you have. It describes how the website actually works today.

Who is responsible for your data

The data controller for this website is the operator of FilmSeries, based in Morocco. The operator's identity and contact details are available on request through the contact form.

For any privacy question or request, use the contact form and choose "Privacy request" as the subject.

Summary

  • You can use FilmSeries without creating an account.
  • We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.
  • One strictly necessary cookie is set, only on the contact page, to protect the form against abuse.
  • If you send us a message, we use your name, email address and message to handle it and, if needed, reply.
  • Posters and other images load from TMDB's image servers; trailers load from YouTube only when you press play.

What data we process

When you browse

Like every website, our server receives technical information with each request, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. Our hosting provider may keep this in server logs for security and operational purposes for a limited period. FilmSeries does not use it to identify you or build profiles.

Our own application logs record technical errors (for example, when the movie database cannot be reached). They do not record what you browse.

When you choose a country for where-to-watch information, the choice is only part of the page address (for example ?region=GB); it is not stored.

When you use the contact form

If you send us a message, we process your name and email address, the subject and content of your message, the date and time it was sent, and a one-way hashed (non-reversible) form of your IP address used only to limit the number of messages that can be sent in a short period.

Messages are stored in a protected location on our server that is not accessible from the web. We use your email address only to answer your message if a reply is needed; sending a message does not guarantee a response.

Content loaded from third parties

  • TMDB images. Posters, backdrops, cast photos and provider logos load directly from image.tmdb.org, which receives your IP address and standard browser information. See TMDB's privacy policy.
  • YouTube trailers. Nothing is loaded from YouTube until you press play. The video then loads in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com) and Google receives information about your visit under Google's privacy policy.
  • Where-to-watch data comes from JustWatch through TMDB on our server. Your browser does not contact JustWatch unless you follow a link.

Watch now buttons, streaming provider information and links to TMDB, IMDb, YouTube or a title's official website lead to services run by other companies. FilmSeries does not add tracking or affiliate codes to these links and does not pass your personal data to these services. When you follow a link, the other website can see that you came from filmseries.cfd (our address only, not the page you were reading), and from then on its own privacy and cookie policies apply.

We do not use external fonts, analytics or advertising networks. If this changes, this policy will be updated before the change, and consent will be requested where the law requires it.

Why we process data and on what basis

  • Operating and securing the website (server and error logs, abuse prevention): our legitimate interest in a secure, working website.
  • Handling your messages: your consent, given when you submit the form, and our legitimate interest in reading and, where needed, answering them.

We do not sell personal data and do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling.

How long we keep data

  • Contact messages: up to 12 months after receipt, unless needed longer to handle your request or meet a legal obligation.
  • Abuse-prevention records (hashed IP addresses): no longer than 24 hours.
  • The contact form cookie: deleted when you close your browser.
  • Server logs kept by our hosting provider: according to the provider's retention settings.

Who we share data with

We do not share personal data with third parties for their own purposes. Service providers that help run the website, such as our hosting provider and, if used, our email provider, may process data on our behalf. Some may be located in other countries; where that is the case, we rely on the safeguards available under applicable law.

Your rights

Under Moroccan law

FilmSeries is operated from Morocco, where personal data is protected by Law No. 09-08 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data. Under this law, you have the right to be informed about the processing of your data, to access it, to have it corrected, updated or deleted, and to object, for legitimate reasons, to its processing.

The Moroccan data protection authority is the Commission Nationale de contrôle de la protection des Données à caractère Personnel (CNDP), which also receives complaints.

If you live elsewhere

Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to object to or restrict its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. If you are in the European Union or EEA, these rights are set out in the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and you may also complain to your local data protection authority.

To exercise a right, contact us through the contact form and choose "Privacy request". We may need to verify your identity first.

Security

The website is served over HTTPS. Contact messages and configuration are stored outside the public part of the server, and the contact form is protected against automated abuse. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data.

Children

FilmSeries is a general-audience website and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children; if you believe a child has sent us personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.

Changes to this policy

We will update this policy whenever the way the website processes data changes. The date at the top shows the latest update.
